OPERATIONS
Case
Management
Clients who live in Housing at the
Crossroads owned and operated housing units are assigned
a case manager who helps them create a stable living
environment, set goals, and obtain education or job
training. Case managers also arrange necessary social
services for clients. Housing at the Crossroads currently
contracts with Kirkland Interfaith Transitions in
Housing (KITH) for case management. KITH also screens
and selects clients for the program.
More information about KITH is available at the organization's
Web
site.

Facilities
Housing at the Crossroads currently
owns and operates a four-unit apartment complex (fourplex)
in Kirkland, Washington and a duplex in nearby Bellevue.
The organization is also building six additional transitional
housing units. Construction on the "Kensington
Square Project" is expected to be completed in
the fall of 2007.
A family's length of stay in a unit depends upon the
time needed for them to achieve sufficient stability
and resources to secure permanent housing. The maximum
stay is two years.
During their time in the program, each family pays one
third of its adjusted income in rent and utilities.
When the family graduatse from the program, Housing
at the Crossroads assists them in the transition to
permanent housing. |
